During more than 25 years, Guennadi Kalinine was working in the traditional technique of oil painting and painting with egg tempera. Also, he worked as a restaurateur and icon painter for Orthodox churches.

In 2005 started work with icons for Saint Alexis Chapel in Muskoka.
